This dedicated tour illuminates the history of Crathes Castle and its gardens. The story of the estate is a rather lengthy one, dating back to 1323, when the local land was granted to the Burnett family by Robert the Bruce.
The castle itself was built in the 16th century and has since played a significant role for the family that lived here from the later part of the 16th century until 1951, when it was handed over to the National Trust for Scotland. One of the main attractions inside the castle is the Horn of Leys, awarded to the Burnett family by Robert the Bruce in the 14th century.
During your visit, take some time to explore the gardens, which offer a beautiful view and a wealth of amazing plants.
