Here are the communications options which are available while on board Holland America Line cruise ships.
Telephone - Calling ship to shore
You can place ship-to-shore calls from the direct-dial telephone in your guest stateroom, reception permitting.
All calls are billed at a satellite tariff and charged to your onboard account, with outbound calling rates posted near your cabin telephone. This applies to outbound, inbound, and toll-free numbers, including 800, 877, and 888, and collect calls are not available from the ship. One small thing that surprises people, if you use a credit card or phone card to place calls, you can end up paying twice, because your onboard account can still be billed in addition to any card-related fees.
Telephone - Calling shore to ship
Friends, family, and business contacts can reach a Holland America Line ship at sea using the Ship Dial Service. A credit card is required for inbound calls.
The current published rate is US$16.00 per minute, and billing begins at the time specified in the service flow. Before calling, have the ship’s name, the guest’s name, and the stateroom number ready, it makes the connection much smoother.

Dial 1-800-993-5483 (U.S.). From outside the U.S., dial 1-321-837-6106.
Listen to the announcement.
Follow the menu prompts, and select the number that corresponds to the ship you are calling.
If you receive a busy signal or message, hang up promptly, and try again.
Print or share these instructions with anyone who may need to reach you during your cruise including the ship’s name, the guest’s name, and the stateroom number.
Fax services on board
Facsimile service is available on board, and the Front Office can provide current pricing and details.
Mailing letters and postcards
You can mail letters and postcards from the ship while in ports of call. Stamps may be purchased locally in port, or you can purchase them with U.S. cash from the Front Office. All mail is subject to local postal office procedures and rates in the port mailed.
