Holland America Line has partnered with luggage transport services for your convenience — Luggage Direct and Luggage Forward®. These companies offer a variety of services designed to make your travel experience easier, whether you’re arriving, embarking, or returning home.

We also offer Bags VIP Luggage Delivery as an additional service option, and for guests disembarking in Seattle, the Seattle “Port Valet” program is available.

Luggage Direct offers you the opportunity to receive your airline boarding passes and check your luggage into your flight while still on board your Holland America Line ship. Sign up on board or before your cruise online.

Our TSA-approved partners will take your luggage directly from the ship and deliver it to your outbound aircraft. You will claim your luggage when you arrive at your final airport destination. 

If you want to make your trip home even easier, sign up for Bags VIP luggage delivery and eliminate having to deal with your luggage completely.* (See section for Bags VIP Luggage Delivery below for details.)

Luggage Direct offers:

1. Luggage Direct is available on most of our vessels
2. Ability to enjoy your final hours in Ft. Lauderdale without having to stand in baggage check lines or boarding pass lines at the airport
3. Avoid lines at disembarkation as you are invited to be the first to disembark
4. No need to locate your luggage or wait for a porter's assistance in the terminal
5. Avoid lines at the airport – with boarding pass in hand and no luggage to check you can proceed directly to Security
6. Receive your boarding pass and luggage tags in your stateroom
7. No luggage overweight fees
8. Flight can depart from FLL or MIA airport (American Airlines and Alaska only from FLL)
9. International flights accepted (Delta only participates domestic)
10. For direct and connecting flights in the same reservation

Important to know about Luggage Direct:

• Cost is US$29.00 per person (subject to change)
• Airline-assessed baggage fees will be applied to guest's onboard account when applicable as per the airline's rules
• Guests may check no more than three pieces of luggage per person
• Upgrade requests, seat assignment changes, and flight changes cannot be accommodated on board
• Restrictions for each city include participating airlines, standby tickets, earliest and latest flight times

The Port of Seattle is pleased to offer complimentary luggage transfer to your airline at the end of your cruise.

Passengers are only responsible for airline baggage fees if applicable. We hope this service from ship to plane makes your travel easier and your time in Seattle more enjoyable.

How does the service work?

1. Complete the enrollment form. Two ways to sign up:

Enroll online at https://maketraveleasier.com/PortValet before your cruise, or once on board, complete the enrollment form found in your stateroom

If you have questions about eligibility, check with the guest services team on your ship

2. It's best to enroll during the first few days of your cruise. Pay close attention to the deadline on the sign-up form—typically three days before the end of the voyage
3. You can use Port Valet if you are flying with these participating airlines:
   • Alaska
   • American
   • Delta
   • Horizon
   • JetBlue
   • Southwest
   • United
4. Receive boarding passes and luggage tags in your stateroom.
5. Ship's staff will pick up your luggage the night before disembarkation
6. Enjoy hassle-free disembarkation in Seattle with no luggage overweight
7. Your luggage is sent from the pier to Sea-Tac Airport via secure truck and delivered to your airline. No need to check your bags at the airport
8. When you arrive at Sea-Tac, proceed to security

Luggage Forward® is a worldwide door-to-door service allowing you to have your bags picked up at your home and delivered to your stateroom. Upon disembarkation, your bags are delivered directly back home.

Bags VIP luggage delivery allows you to bypass the baggage claim and begin making the most of your vacation right away, without the burden of luggage. With Bags VIP luggage delivery service, you can skip baggage claim and head directly to your ship upon arrival. A Bags VIP agent will retrieve your luggage from baggage claim and deliver it straight to your ship, where it will be waiting in your stateroom.

On the return trip, Bags VIP luggage delivery can deliver your luggage from baggage claim at your destination airport to your home or hotel, just like the service delivered your bags to the ship when you arrived.

The service is available in more than 250 U.S. airports. By combining Holland America's Luggage Direct onboard airline check-in and Bags VIP luggage delivery services, you can check your luggage on the final day of your cruise and not have to deal with it again until it is delivered to your door!
