La Palma, the green island, is home to 80,000 inhabitants.
Leave the ship and head to the Sanctuary of Nuestra Señora de Las Nieves -- the Patron of the La Palma.
Your next destination is El Paso, in the middle of the island. Here you will find and explore the La Caldera de Taburiente National Park Visitor Center. The volcanic crater has a circumference of 17 miles, and is full of dense pine forests and in some places is almost a half-mile deep. From the La Cumbrecita viewpoint and observation platform, admire the impressive grandeur of the caldera. This platform is a window in the side of the caldera.
Travel the same road to San Pedro in Breña Alta to visit the La Destiladera Occupational Therapy Center. Here you can admire and, if you like, purchase local handicrafts and liqueurs.
