Visit a Greenlandic home and hear the story of the host’s life in the Arctic.
Kaffemik is a Greenlandic tradition you must experience. This social gathering usually takes place when the locals are celebrating a special event or a milestone, such as birthdays, first day of school, new additions to the family, or someone’s confirmation - but the real enjoyment comes from each other’s company. During your visit to a local home, you’ll be greeted with a warm welcome and the opportunity to learn firsthand what life in the Arctic is like. All while enjoying a slice of Greenlandic cake accompanied with tea and coffee.
Notes: Guests are advised to bring a mosquito net, mosquito repellent, flat comfortable walking shoes and to dress according to the weather conditions. The walk from the pier to the hosts home is around 15 minutes each way.
