Depart the pier for a scenic 75-minute drive into the highest mountains of the island, the Bandama Natural Monument. Along the way, you'll start to discover the natural beauty of Gran Canaria.
Upon arrival, set out with your specialized trekking guide on a 3½ hour hike into the Bandama Caldera. Follow the trail bordered by lush pine, orange and fig trees as you make your way to the center of the crater. Enjoy the smell of eucalyptus as you discover the unusual features of the area, such as abandoned farmhouses and outlines of terraced fields. Once at the top, take in the stunning panoramic views of the north and west coast.
After hiking back down the caldera, relax and refresh at a local winery where you will enjoy a wine tasting with snacks before returning to the pier.
Notes:
Minimum age is 12 years. Wear sunglasses and sunscreen. Bring a hat. Dress in layers and wear comfortable walking shoes. Please realistically assess your physical fitness and ability prior to booking, as the walk is uphill, over unpaved, rough walking tracks with many steps.
