Sail through the sheltered waters of the fjord bordering Paamiut and experience the dramatic beauty of Greenland's coastal landscapes, viewing the fjord and occasional waterfall(s) from a boat. As you glide along steep fjord walls and expansive Arctic seascapes, your local skipper offers insights about the surrounding landscape and life in Greenland, and may also share stories about local traditions, history, and everyday experiences on the water.
Formerly known as Frederikshåb, Paamiut was established in 1742 as a navigation landmark at the mouth of Kvanefjord. The surrounding scenery — shaped by ice, sea, and time — has remained largely unchanged for centuries, offering a serene and immersive journey through Greenland's natural environment.
