Head to the fishing village of Câmara de Lobos, made famous by Winston Churchill, who painted and relaxed in this picturesque setting.
You'll take in the views from Cabo Girão, the second-highest sea cliff in the world. Visit Ribeira Brava with time to purchase refreshments (at your own expense) at a seaside café.
You will follow the north coast road through Encumeada Pass for more incredible views of Madeira's north and south coastlines.
A stop in the village of São Vicente allows you to admire the waterfalls along the lovely road on the north coast near Porto Moniz.
After lunch, cross the impressive Paúl da Serra Plateau and head towards the island's south, with a short break on the way back to Funchal.
