Head through the historic city center of Santos and past its famous beach.
Your destination is the Pele Museum. The facility opened in 2014 during the World Cup in Brazil, marking a watershed moment for Santos, where Brazil's 'King of Soccer' played for the Santos Football Club for most of his career. The new museum is a huge drawcard and the country's top attraction for soccer fans. Its exhibits include 2,400 objects from the soccer star's personal collection, including items of sentimental value, such as the shoe-shine box he used as a working child, as well as the legendary number 10 jersey, cleats, soccer balls, trophies and other memorabilia. Among the interactive exhibits are a hologram of Pele and displays to help you learn how to dribble or replicate his thousandth goal.
Notes:
Tour includes two-plus hours of moderate walking plus any additional walking during the free time. There are some uneven surfaces to negotiate.
