This city sightseeing overview begins with a visit to the observation point, La Cruz Hill for a panoramic view over Tierra del Fuego and the Straits of Magellan.
You will visit the Maggiorino Borgatello Museum kept by the Salesian Friars, with exhibits of the magnificent flora and fauna of the region, and relics of the folklore and handicraft of native Indian tribes such as the Yaganes, Onas and Alacalufes.
Driving to the town center, you’ll stop at the Plaza de Armas Square to view and photograph the Hernando de Magellanes Monument or browse at the souvenir stalls. Continue on your drive or walk to Sara Braun Palace where you can see the rich Patagonian history through artifacts of the Braun-Menedez family.
Don’t miss the beautifully landscaped cemetery, where you can admire the splendid mausoleums of pioneer families as well as a gravestone where the last Onas, the extinct Fireland Natives, are buried.
