For the wildlife enthusiast, this is an exclusive opportunity to view the impressive birdlife of the Falkland Islands.
Transfer by minibus to nearby Whalebone Cove, where your walk will begin. Your expert local guide will distribute a tour-specific illustrated checklist and give a general background to Falkland birds and what you might expect to see on this tour: dark-faced ground tyrants, Falkland thrush, upland geese, long-tailed meadowlark, Falkland flightless steamer duck, rock cormorants, southern giant petrels, sooty shearwaters, Magellan penguins, black-throated finch and up to as many as 30 other species.
There are also spectacular views of Stanley from this picturesque bay.
Notes:
Bring binoculars and a pen. Mobility aids cannot be accommodated on the transportation. Tour requires 3.5 miles of brisk walking over uneven terrain; participants must be physically fit and able to keep up with the group. Please realistically assess your physical fitness and ability prior to booking, as guests not capable of keeping up with the group will not be allowed on tour. This walk is classed as strenuous due to the distance and rough terrain. Water is included for each guest. Dress warmly in layers with a windproof and waterproof outer layer; bring a warm hat, gloves and a scarf. Wildlife sightings are likely but are not guaranteed. Minimum age is 8 years.
