Set off on a class III-IV rafting trip down the clear, azure waters of the mighty Petrohué River -- one of Chile's most beautiful and exciting glacial rivers. Marvel at the surrounding spectacular scenery of old-growth forests, waterfalls and breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and volcanoes.
Your river guide will expertly maneuver through thunderous rapids, so hold on and enjoy this thrilling whitewater experience.
Wetsuits are provided, and a picnic lunch is served at the lodge or on the riverbank.
Notes:
Wear your swimsuit under your clothing and bring a towel, as well as a set of dry clothes. Participants must be fit and have enough stamina to paddle in fast, rough, open waters for perhaps long periods. The raft operator may deny participation if a guest appears unfit or unable to sustain such strenuous activity. Participants must be able to swim and to walk over uneven terrain. Wear comfortable walking shoes. Minimum age is 12 years. Maximum age is 80 years. Although only a few horse flies live near this river, wear light-colored clothing to avoid attracting them. Bring insect repellent. Waiver must be signed and medical conditions disclosed. Picnic lunch includes water, coffee, tea, 1 cheese or meat empanada and cookies.
