Chile’s wild and beautiful Aysén District lies south of Chiloé and Puerto Montt. There are impressive landscapes in this wet and windy region that makes up part of Chilean Patagonia. The construction of the Carretera Austral Highway now makes this frontier country more accessible.
Your excursion begins with a one-hour coach journey through compelling scenery as you follow the river along the base of a deep rocky gorge.
At a small farm, your trusty horse will be waiting. What a fantastic way to experience the beauty of this land at your own pace, on horseback, capturing the same sense of Patagonia that the first colonists had. After a briefing and riding gear is readied, start your two-hour ride and revel in contemplating nature at its most pristine.
A small snack and a glass of wine will be waiting upon your return. Transfer back to the Chacabuco pier and the ship by van or coach.
