This tour showcases the most interesting parts of Maceió.
From the port of Jaragua, you’ll head to the Anta Lagoon and the beaches of Pajucara, Ponta Verde and Jatiuca. From there, continue into the town center to visit the Metropolitan Cathedral.
North of the city center, admire the breathtaking view of the area from the lookout station atop Mirante de Sao Goncalo Hill -- the highest point of Maceio. View the residential districts of Prado and Trapiche da Barra, and the all-important Rei Pele Soccer Stadium.
Your next stop is at the Pontal da Barra Handicraft Center. Here, fishermen and artisans produce and sell their local arts and crafts. Take some time to wander through the many stalls selling items made of straw, wood, ceramic and lace, and make any purchases that you can’t resist before you return to the ship.
Notes:
Your guide will do his/her best to speak English, but please keep in mind that the limited tourism infrastructure of Maceio is part of the city’s charm, and bear with any language difficulties he/she may encounter. Tour may be conducted by a Portuguese-speaking guide and an English-language translator.
