In Buenos Aires, drive along Plaza de Mayo, surrounded by the Casa Rosada Government House, the Metropolitan Cathedral and the Cabildo, built during Spanish rule. You will find the impressive Congress building at the far end of Avenida de Mayo.
At San Telmo -- the oldest district of Buenos Aires -- stop at the colorful La Boca area and at the famous Caminito Street, where painters offer emotive tango pictures for sale.
Pass by the Colon Theatre opera house -- the cultural pride of Buenos Aires and stop to visit the grave of Eva Perón (Evita) at the above-ground Recoleta Cemetery. The paths here are lined with mausoleums and statues marking generations of Argentine families resting here in ornate splendor.
