Today is your chance to play polo -- the sport of kings and of Argentina. No previous experience is required as you become a polo player for the day. This tour has received a Certificate of Excellence from TripAdvisor for many consecutive years.
You'll begin by listening to an informative talk about polo and the beautiful ponies who are the stars of the game. You will take a polo lesson, where you will learn to ride your horse, hold your mallet, and hit the ball. The ranch guide will explain how polo horses are selected for the sport, their bloodlines, and how they are trained. Learn about the rules of the game and various shooting techniques.
Now, you're out on the field on your horse for a polo mini-match that will make you feel like a professional player.
After your match, snack on delicious empanadas and Argentine wine.
Then, you will watch a professional live polo match of four chukkas (sets). With more than 30 horses in play, this is a fast-paced game of pure adrenaline. In between chukkas, visit the pony line and learn how a polo horse is taken care of and its preparation for a match.
A complete barbecue lunch offers wonderful asado -- a selection of grilled meats (vegetarian options are available) accompanied by premium Argentine wines. Savor this opportunity to try delicious regional food.
Relax afterward or take a walk through the beautiful countryside before returning to the pier.
