Hop into a comfortable boat for a scenic 10-minute ride to a trailhead. From here, begin an exhilarating hike to Morro Ibitira-Piroca — a stunning natural formation in Alter do Chão.
Your journey starts with a 200-yard walk through lush vegetation to the base of the hill. The ascent is a challenge, covering approximately 984 feet (300 m) in elevation over 1¼ miles (2 km) of hiking.
The climb to the summit at 361 feet asl takes around 45 minutes and rewards you with breathtaking panoramic views of the Tapajós River, Lago Verde, Lago das Piranhas, Ponta do Cururu, and the charming village of Alter do Chão.

This hike is strenuous and requires about 1½ miles of walking. Terrain includes uneven surfaces, steep inclines, gravel, grass, dirt, mud, and many steps. Wear sturdy non-skid walking shoes. In the event of rain, the trail becomes extremely slippery due to mud. Please realistically assess your physical fitness and ability prior to booking. Not advisable for guests using a wheelchair or for those with mobility limitations. Mobility devices (wheelchairs, walkers, scooters, etc) cannot be accommodated on the transportation. Participants must be in good physical condition. Shade is limited; to avoid sunburn, wear light, long clothing suitable for use as a cover-up. Bring a hat and sunglasses; wear biodegradable/reef-safe sunscreen. Bring bottled water. Bring insect repellent. The hike takes place in a rainforest environment, with conditions that may include high heat, humidity, and insects. Minimum age is 12 years.
