The day begins with an enjoyable, scenic drive to the Tropical Forest Sky Walk which is located near the boundary of Carara Biological National Park. Connect with nature as you explore this incredible wonderland. A short, easy walk brings you to the first of three suspended cable bridges. Each bridge stretches between 270 and 330 feet, and all skim the top of the spectacular rainforest up to 126 feet above the ground. On an hour-long hike, take in the sights of the forest below and around you, with ground-level trails between each bridge or elevated trail.
Discover the marshlands of the Tarcoles River from your lofty perch; then, take in ocean views in the distance as you meander along the stunning walkways. Your guide will point out wildlife, which could include several bird, monkey, butterfly, and mammal species.
Cross the crystalline waters of the Tarcolitos River several times by tractor-drawn wagon as your guide acquaints you with the rainforest environment of the Villa Lapas Private Reserve. As you ride, keep your camera ready in case colorful toucans, scarlet macaws, rare spiders, lizards, howler and spider monkeys and ancient plant species make themselves known.
Savor a delicious, hearty Costa Rican lunch to refuel afterward.
Notes:
