The day begins with an enjoyable, scenic drive to the Tropical Forest Sky Walk which is located near the boundary of Carara Biological Reserve. Here you will have the opportunity to connect to nature as you explore this incredible wonderland that features a carefully designed series suspension bridges and walking trails through the Monteverde Rainforest.
Starting with a short, easy walk, you will arrive at the first of three suspension bridges; each bridge stretches between 270 and 330 feet, and all skim the top of the spectacular rain forest up to 126 feet above the ground. This is ideal because 90% of all organisms in a rain forest are found in the canopy.
Next up is Pura Vida Gardens & Waterfalls, named the best garden in Latin America by Integrated Conservation Research Group and the best garden in Central America by the Tropical Sierra Foundation. This garden is quite unique to Costa Rica and is truly a visual masterpiece. The foundation for the design is the natural beauty of this country with its spectacular flora, fauna, waterfalls and views of the Pacific. To this, thousands of flowers have been added as well as several varieties of orchid, not only from Costa Rica but from all over the world. The manicured walkways meander along a river or at the crest of a mountain and most are easily accessible to people of all ages and levels of fitness.
Take an easy guided walk to see the tallest waterfall in Costa Rica. The panoramic views of the Pacific coastline are spectacular. Because of the elevation, you are able to see miles of coastline, many islands, and the Nicoya Peninsula.
Enjoy a typical Costa Rican lunch at Pura Vida's main restaurant.
Notes:
Wildlife sightings are likely but are not guaranteed. Wear comfortable walking shoes.
