At a local marina, board a boat for a thrilling cruise through the mangroves, where your expert guide will point out the many species of waterfowl and other animals that live in this unique ecosystem.
Watch for crocodiles, who love to rest on the riverbank.
Upon reaching land, take a short but scenic transfer through rural Costa Rica as you make your way to a bird sanctuary. Here, you will discover that the scarlet macaw, one of the most endangered species in the tropics, has found a safe place to live and breed. View this brightly-colored bird at close quarters in this beautiful sanctuary, where the birds can fly freely.
Wander through the gardens, which are as peaceful as they are picturesque, and discover the many other bird species that live here.
Enjoy a fruit snack before the scenic drive back to the ship.
