Connected with Central America’s largest protected rainforest, the Veragua Rainforest Eco-Adventure facility. This private reserve neighbors the largest park in Central America, straddling the border between Costa Rica and Panama in the hills overlooking Puerto Limón.
The one-hour drive up into the mountains passes through several small, charming towns such as Liverpool, Brisas and Blanco for a closer look at rural Costa Rican life. You will find yourself immersed in the breathtaking and vibrant rainforest with amazing panoramic views.
The ultimate nature experience begins as your guide walks with you to encounter the snakes of the Caribbean coast (they are behind glass). Stroll along easily accessible trails to the Aerial Tram. An open-air gondola system takes you through the primary rainforest, past 300-year-old trees and down to the riverbank.
Walk the Trail of the Giants, named for the huge trees lining the riverbank, or choose the optional walk on the Puma Waterfall Trail.
Ride the tram again to the top station and visit the biological research station here. Savor a Costa Rican-style lunch.
Next, zip-line through the rainforest on a patented dual-line system, silently gliding through different levels of the rainforest canopy. You will have uninterrupted views of the virgin rainforest from the twelve traverses. The longest is almost two football fields in length and 150 feet in the air. Back on the forest floor, find refreshments and souvenirs to remind you of this once-in-a-lifetime experience.
