From your motorcoach, admire the marvelous Republican architecture of the Manga residential area, home to some of Cartagena's most ornate mansions and beautifully sculpted houses.
Stop to take photos at the New World's largest Spanish fort -- the Fort of San Felipe de Barajas, originally built in the 17th century.
It's a 20-minute drive to the Walled City, with its wealth of colonial buildings and age-old fortifications around every corner. Old church domes, the clock tower (the symbol of the city), and dazzling ocean views create a stunning backdrop.
At the Navy Museum, take in a delightful display of Colombia's history and culture during a folkloric show of traditional songs and dances. A soft drink is included.
Shop at the Las Bovedas handicraft center, built in the late 18th century as a dungeon and munitions storage facility.
Enjoy a sightseeing drive through the modern residential areas of Bocagrande and Castillo Grande, famous for a wide variety of shops, restaurants and hotels, before returning to the ship.
Notes:
Guests wishing to stay in town to shop or explore independently are welcome to do so but must make their own way back to the ship.
