Discover a few highlights of the City by the Bay on this exciting panoramic drive that takes you from the top of Twin Peaks to the crashing Pacific Coast, across the Golden Gate Bridge and to quaint Sausalito in Marin County. From the pier, travel along the Embarcadero and up the famous Market Street to the top of Twin Peaks. Of the 43 hills in San Francisco, Twin Peaks offers the city’s most spectacular views. The almost-identical summits, Noe and Eureka, rise approximately 922 feet above the city. On a clear day, you are treated to a 360-degree view spanning the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, Berkeley and the peninsula.
Glide through lush Golden Gate Park -- San Francisco's enormous arboreal front yard. Situated a few blocks north of the oceanfront end of the park is the spectacular Cliff House -- spend a few minutes here with views of the Pacific and the Golden Gate National Recreation Area.
Proceed to cross the historic Golden Gate Bridge, possibly the most beautiful -- and certainly the most photographed -- bridge in the world. Pause for photos at Vista Point; from here, a short drive takes you to Sausalito. Reminiscent of Saint Tropez on the French Riviera, Sausalito is a quaint artists’ colony. Next to the bayside restaurants, antique shops, and galleries, you'll see hamburger joints, ice cream shops, and secondhand bookstores. Sausalito's main strip is Bridgeway, which runs along the water. A bay-front meal (at your own expense) is highly recommended.
