Begin your day with a scenic, escorted coach ride through the countryside of northern Germany, passing open fields, green forests and lovely villages. During the approximately three-hour trip, your host will provide snacks as well as city maps of Berlin.
Upon arrival in Berlin, your city guide will board the motorcoach. A panoramic sightseeing tour offers an overview of the major highlights of Berlin. You will pass the Reichstag -- seat of the German parliament -- and Gendarmenmarkt Square, as well as Potsdam Square, Tiergarten Park, the Victory Column. The latter is a landmark that celebrates the military successes of Prussia over Denmark. Watch for Bellevue Palace -- official residence of the President of Germany.
Photo stops at the remnants of the Berlin Wall, and Berlin's icon the Brandenburg Gate are included.
Next, you will have approximately three hours on your own for shopping or returning to some of the sights for a closer inspection. Purchase lunch at the venue of your choice (at your own expense). Your host will advise you of the pick-up time for the coach transfer back to Warnemünde, which will include a light snack.
Notes:
Guide service, taxi transfers, entrance fees and lunch are not included in the transfer price. It will be your responsibility to be at the drop-off point at the given return time. An English-speaking escort will be aboard the transfer motorcoach to answer questions en route. Travel time to Berlin is approximately three hours each way without traffic delays. Heavy traffic congestion and delays can and will occur. Bring local currency, as many vendors do not accept credit cards or US dollars. Use of public restroom facilities costs 50 cents - €1 cash. Shops are closed on Sundays and holidays; a few souvenir shops may be open.
