Drive through the city of Tromsø for a panoramic overview of its main sights. Tromsø Island is linked to the mainland by the 3,398-foot Tromsø Bridge. Cross it en route to the cable car on Mt Storsteinen.
As you ascend, enjoy panoramic views of Tromsø city, surrounding fjords, and snow-covered peaks — beautiful by day and mesmerizing by night. At the top, you'll find yourself far from city lights, making it an ideal location for spotting the aurora borealis. If the conditions are right, you'll witness nature's most stunning light show as the Northern Lights dance across the Arctic sky.
Before returning to the pier, you'll pause at another location known for high potential of Northern Lights visibility.
Notes:
The Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon; the chances of spotting them are high, but sightings cannot be guaranteed. Dress warmly in layers with a windproof and waterproof outer layer; bring a warm hat, gloves and a scarf. Wear sturdy non-skid walking shoes. The cable car may close at short notice due to strong winds. Expect delays at the cable car station. Children under the age of 3 must be secured in a child's car seat on the transportation. These are not available through the tour operator; you must bring your own from home. Tour sequence may vary. Not advisable for guests using a wheelchair or for those with mobility limitations. Mobility devices (wheelchairs, walkers, scooters, etc) cannot be accommodated on the transportation. No elevator is available at the cable car venue; participants must climb approximately 70 steps to reach the top station. The Tromsø Bridge can close without prior notice; a route with tunnels will be substituted.
