Your tour begins with a short drive past Lake Prestvatn and the Meteorological Institute en route to the world-renowned Northern Lights Observatory. Step inside the facility to enjoy a 20-minute film in the planetarium that showcases the wonders of the Northern Lights as experienced by those who live around the Arctic Circle. Seven months of winter sky-watching, hundreds of thousands of photographs and hundreds of hours under the spell of the Aurora Borealis have been condensed into the world's first all-dome 360-degree, high-resolution movie of the Northern Lights.
From here, cross the Tromsø Bridge to the mainland and discover the modern architecture of the breathtaking Tromsdalen Church, also called the Arctic Cathedral. This mighty structure features a beautiful stained-glass window depicting the Resurrection of Christ.
You'll learn a little about the city of Tromsø on a panoramic drive through the city as you head back to the pier.
Notes:
The Tromsdalen Church is a parish church and may be closed to visitors at short notice. If the Tromsø Bridge is closed, the cathedral will be accessed via an alternative route that may involve a tunnel.
