Drive through the city of Tromsø to the Polaria Arctic Experience Center. The center focuses on the polar regions -- even the building itself stands out from the surrounding architecture as it resembles blocks of ice sliding out into the ocean. You can try a polar walk, and take a look at the various aquariums and touch pools showing life in the sea in polar areas. Admire the live seals in one of the large aquariums. There is also a specially-designed cinema showing two beautiful panoramic films on a 69-foot-wide screen.
En route back to the ship, stop at Tromsdalen Church -- the Arctic Cathedral -- on the mainland. The church has Europe's largest stained-glass window (1,500 square feet), depicting the Return of Christ.
