Depart the pier for a panoramic drive through the Norwegian countryside, characterized by rocky escarpments and green farmland.
You're headed to Egersund -- the home of Berentsen's Brewery & Distillery. This is one of the oldest breweries in Norway, founded in 1895 by Captain Wilhelm Berentsen as a soda factory. The brewing and distilling equipment was installed in 2018. The storytelling starts in the brewery Tasting Center, where you'll learn about the malt growing in fields shaped by the Ice Age and the special yeast that has been passed down through generations from a farm just a few hours away. It may not surprise you, then, to hear that Berentsen's beer is made with 6,000-year-old glacier water.
Next, explore the distillery and visit the barrel hall where the whiskey distilled on site is aged. Your guide shares the tips and tricks that make Berentsen's whiskey truly one of a kind. Sample three different whiskies and hear the stories behind them.
Reboard the coach for a drive along the coastal road to the Swords in Rock Monument. Snap photos here as your guide explains the historic Battle of Hafrsfjord, which took place in AD 872.
From here, you'll return to the pier.
