The Western Isles boast some of the most magnificent and dramatic coastlines in Scotland. The most enjoyable way to view them is, of course, from the water itself.
Setting out from the town of Stornoway, you will head to the nearby marina and board a RIB (rigid inflatable) boat. It's light and very fast, so be prepared to get a little wet.
Listen to a safety briefing before setting out past some of the many lochs of Scotland. Keep an eye out for the local wildlife. The abundance of fish and plankton in the Hebridean waters attracts basking sharks, orca whales, dolphins and seals, among others.
Return to dry land and head back to the ship. Guests wishing to stay in town to shop or explore independently are welcome to do so but must make their own way back to the ship.
Notes:
Life jackets are provided and must be worn. Wildlife sightings are likely but are not guaranteed. Participants must be physically fit. Guests who are pregnant or have a respiratory, back or neck condition are not allowed to participate.
