This accessible Stockholm shore excursion captures some of the city's best highlights.
Meet your guide and accessible van; then, you will be on your way with a brief panoramic drive through Stockholm's city center for a wonderful overview of the Swedish capital. Along the way, you will see the spectacular City Hall where the Nobel celebrations and ceremonies take place.
Continue to the world-famous Vasa Museum, which houses a 17th-century warship that ignominiously sank on her maiden voyage after a grand total of only 20 minutes at sea. This is the only 17th-century ship in the world salvaged almost fully intact. Indeed, the Vasa Museum is one of the most popular museums in the Baltic area.
Back in the Old Town, enter Sweden's Royal Palace on a memorable visit to the historic Royal Armory. Located in the old cellars, this museum contains many fascinating artifacts pertaining to Swedish military history and Swedish Royalty.
Notes:
This tour is designed to be accessible for all guests, including those using a wheelchair (the tour operator suggests you bring a companion to assist, as guides are not allowed to push wheelchairs). The tour route avoids stairs; however, the nature of access may differ from the standards you are familiar with at home. Accessible bathrooms with wide doors are available along the tour route. An accessible vehicle with a wheelchair lift or ramp is used for transportation. The number of accessible vehicles available is extremely limited; make your accessible shore excursion reservations as far in advance as possible. Maximum weight is 320 kgs. Minimum height is 4'11" (150 cm).
This tour option is specifically for guests who require a reservation for a designated accessible space, such as a wheelchair anchor. If you are a companion or have chosen to book this tour but do not require a wheelchair anchor or similar accommodation, please select the version of this tour with 'Companion' in the title. This helps us ensure that all guests who need accessibility accommodations have access to the necessary resources and allows us to coordinate effectively with our vendors.
Please complete the Special Services form at https://book.hollandamerica.com/specialServices/login.action; this will ensure that suitable transportation is in place for your tour.
