Depart the port and travel to the legendary Rosebank Distillery, where you'll embark on the Reawakening tour. This investigative experience explains the painstaking process of bringing this phoenix-like historic whisky brand back to life in the 21st century — decades after its decline and demise.
Your visit begins with an engaging audiovisual presentation recounting Rosebank's storied past. Then step inside the stillhouse — an incredible piece of architecture that melds brand-new design with the structure of the old brick distillery. Here, expert guides explain the triple-distillation process that gives Rosebank whisky its signature smooth, floral character. A visit to the warehouse follows, where rows of precious aging casks house the future of this revived distillery.
Your tour concludes in a tasting room, where you'll raise a glass to Rosebank's return with samples of two beautiful single malts from the sister distilleries. You'll also have the chance to taste the new-make spirit, fresh from Rosebank's stills.
Next up is a journey to Helix Park to see, up close, The Kelpies. This enormous sculpture of horse heads is the largest equine sculpture in the world and is not to be missed. Words and photos simply cannot do it justice. The sculpture is a
magnificent double entendre — a representation of Scotland's mythical waterhorses rooted in Norse mythology, and homage to the magnificent Victorian-era Clydesdale horses that pulled laden barges along Scotland's canals and waterways.
Enjoy a brief stop here for photographs before reboarding your coach and returning to the pier.
