St Andrews, renowned for golf and Scotland's oldest university, offers a scenic coastal experience. Enjoy free time for shopping and exploring in the very picturesque Old Town and view the Old Course.
Confident, poised and well-groomed, the town of St Andrews is most famous as the home of golf. It is also well known for its university — the oldest higher-learning institution in Scotland.
St Andrews faces the sea from above a wide bay on the coast of Fife and has always been at the heart of Scottish history. The town takes its name from the Apostle Andrew, whose relics, according to legend, were brought here by St Rule.
On arrival in this medieval cathedral town, a short panoramic drive will introduce you to some of the main sights. Afterward, you'll have free time to explore independently. You may choose to visit the R&A World Golf Museum, take time to view the Old Course or indulge in some shopping.
Notes:
Entrances are not included. St Andrews Golf Course is an active course that hosts many tournaments and events throughout the year. Access to the course may be restricted depending on the scale of the event or activity on the course. Walking on the Old Course is permitted only on Sundays. Tour does not include a round of golf.
