Confident, poised and well-groomed, the town of St Andrews is most famous as the home of golf. It is also well known for its university -- the oldest higher-learning institution in Scotland.
St Andrews faces the sea from above a wide bay on the coast of Fife and has always been at the heart of Scottish history. The town takes its name from the Apostle Andrew, whose relics, according to legend, were brought here by St Rule.
On arrival in this medieval cathedral town, you will transfer to the famous Royal & Ancient Golf Club for an independent stroll across the Old Course. You will not play a game of golf.
There will be some free time for shopping before you transfer back to South Queensferry.
Notes:
Wear comfortable walking shoes.
