Your tour begins as you board your coach for a scenic drive to Delft. Upon arrival in this delightful 17th century city, you will have a guided walking tour through the narrow streets and alleyways that give Delft its unique charm. Although most famous for its porcelain, Delft is also the birthplace of world-renowned painter Johannes Vermeer and the site of William of Orange's assassination.
After your orientation of this charming city, you will have approximately 90 minutes of free time to explore the quaint cobbled stone streets lining the canals.
Next you will visit De Porceleyne Fles (Royal Delft Factory), the Netherland's most famous delft pottery factory. While others have turned to mass production, the Delft Factory painstakingly creates its famed earthenware using the same methods employed since the factory's founding in 1653. Discover the beautiful pieces on a guided tour of the factory and watch artists demonstrate the hand painting that makes each piece of Delft a work of art.
Before driving back to the pier, you'll have free time to shop in the Delft store.
Notes:
Wear comfortable walking shoes. Many of the surfaces in Delft are cobblestones. Use of public restroom facilities costs 50 cents - €1 cash.
