Gear up with a bike and helmet for this island adventure.
Head into the forest of Bornholm and through some residential areas; then, follow the road to Aakirkeby. Here you will find one of the island's four round churches. The Nylars Church was once used for defensive purposes -- more so than the other round churches of Bornholm.
Continue through the countryside to the hamlet of Knudkser. The Knud Church, and indeed the settlement itself, was named after King Knud the Holy and was built between 1150 and 1200 in Romanesque style. Its choir, apse and porch were built during the late medieval period.
Your journey ends back at the pier.
