This is a scenic tour through the picturesque farmlands of Bornholm -- a tiny Baltic island belonging to Denmark. Traveling by coach you will pass through Rønne before crossing the island through Almindingen -- one of the largest forest areas in Denmark.
Visit the charming little fishing village of Gudhjem, with very steep, narrow, winding streets and half-timbered houses -- many with thatched roofs. You will have some free time to explore on your own.
A short drive will bring you to one of the many glass-blowing studios for which the island is famous -- Baltic Sea Glass. The studio and gallery are located on a former egg farm and attract more than 100,000 visitors annually. Although mainly designing and producing functional tabletop glassware, the studio also creates unique works of art for gallery and museum exhibitions.
Stop at Hammershus Fortress on the northern tip of Bornholm -- the largest castle ruins in Northern Europe. The oldest part was built in the early 12th century and for the next 500 years Hammershus was home to the various rulers of the island, finally abandoned in 1743.
Stop for photos at the local round church -- one of the four round churches to be found on Bornholm. There are only eight in all of Denmark, so this is quite special.
