Experience the colorful tableau of Reykjavík's low-rise Old Town from a tuk-tuk vehicle. You'll head out on a panoramic drive along the city's narrow, cobblestone streets for an insider's look at the Reykjavík of today. A tuk-tuk is a vehicle that can negotiate the narrowest streets and is based on an Asian three-wheeled motorcycle; however, today's modern version is larger, comfortable, and electric.
As you travel, note the technicolor houses of the Old Town, and fishing cottages snugly nestled by the harbor, contrasting sharply with the more distinguished houses perched on Þingholt Hill. Modern times meet senescent fishing shacks, and the pond at the center of the Old Town is a favorite gathering spot. Watch for the Old Harbor precinct, Reykjavík's pint-sized City Hall, the old West Side, Laugavegur shopping street, and the Harpa performing arts center.
Your tuk-tuk is heated, and the cabin can be closed in cooler or windy weather.
Notes:
Maximum capacity per tuk-tuk is 4 guests. Your tuk-tuk will not be exclusive to your party; rather, you will likely be sharing with others. Maximum weight per guest is 308 lbs (140 kg). Minimum height is 4'5" (135 cm). Tuk-tuks sit higher than a regular car; participants must be able to step up and down to (dis)embark the tuk-tuk. Tour is nonrefundable within 72 hours prior to the call at Reykjavík. Dress warmly in layers with a windproof and waterproof outer layer.
