Your adventure begins with a scenic drive out of Reykjavik, where you'll be greeted by the majestic Mount Esja, the guardian of the city. Pause to take in the views before continuing to our first stop, Þórufoss waterfall, famous for its appearance in the TV series, Game of Thrones. Here, you'll have the opportunity to capture some memorable photos of this iconic waterfall.
Next, we venture into the historic and remote Hvalfjordur, where you'll be immersed in the stunning landscapes and rich folklore of the area. Learn about the significant history of these parts and the legends of the Elfman Staupasteinn as we explore the beautiful fjord.
Our journey then leads us to the highlight of the day: Hvammsvik Geothermal Baths. Nestled by the ocean, these natural hot springs offer a rejuvenating experience like no other. With access to eight hot springs ranging from ocean temperatures to 42°C, you'll have the opportunity to relax and unwind in the healing waters. For the adventurous, take a dip in the ocean or enjoy the steam baths and outdoor showers to warm up after your soak.
After indulging in the soothing waters, we head to the restaurant to savor a delicious bowl of lamb soup made with local ingredients. For those with dietary preferences, a vegan option is also available. Accompanied by fluffy sourdough bread and butter with sea salt, all made on-site, this meal is the perfect way to end our adventure.
