Travel the English motorway (freeway) to London and the city's famous Tower Pier.
Board a riverboat for a scenic cruise through London on the famous River Thames. Your vessel features a glass observation deck as well as an open-air promenade deck. You'll see the neo-Gothic Parliament buildings that dominate the riverbank and pass the Tower of London, where William the Conqueror created London's notorious royal prison and the site of some very bloody executions. The dazzlingly beautiful, iconic Victorian-era Tower Bridge is situated adjacent to the Tower of London.
Next, travel to the best vantage point in London -- the London Eye. Built to celebrate the Millennium, the London Eye is the world's tallest observation wheel. You'll take an approximately 35-minute spin on this giant Ferris wheel, slowly rotating in a specially-designed glass capsule that provides an extraordinary view of the city. On a clear day, the panorama stretches from Heathrow Airport to Windsor Castle.
This afternoon, you'll continue to Westminster, where you will have some free time before returning to Dover and the ship.
Notes:
Lunch is not included. You will have time to purchase lunch at your own expense during the tour. Travel time from Dover to London is approximately 2.5 hours each way. The return trip is unguided, as the guide will leave the coach in London. The commentary on the vessels is pre-recorded and some waiting time in line will be required prior to accessing the river cruise and the London Eye. Guests must be able to walk on the boats – electric scooters are not permitted.
