Take this pleasant forest walk to the famous Holmenkollen ski jump, the heart of Norwegian ski competition, to enjoy beautiful views of Oslo rarely seen by visitors.
Your hike to Holmenkollen starts at the pier. Meet your guide and hop on the metro (subway) towards Frognerseteren and Voksenkollen.
Check out the view from the subway as the train climbs the hill -- it's postcard-worthy!
Setting out on foot, you will hike past idyllic Øvresetertjern -- part of a 30-mile trail that includes a toboggan run from the first Luge World Championship in 1955. You'll pass Midtstubakken and Holmenkollen Chapel as you descend. The scenic highlight, though, is without doubt the majestic Holmenkollen Ski Jump -- perhaps one of the most famous sports facilities in the world.
Stroll down to the metro station and finish your outing with a train ride back to the pier.
Guests wishing to stay in town to shop or explore independently are welcome to do so but must make their own way back to the ship.
