A Heart for Community
Connect with the heart and soul of a vibrant community. Whether you're meeting friendly locals, encountering heirloom cultures, engaging with Native peoples, exploring hidden corners, or discovering beloved eateries, let lasting memories begin with warmth, hospitality, and genuine connection.
Enjoy a short stroll from the port to the beautiful Lynwood. This elegant property is a fine example of the Victorian-era architecture that typifies Cobh.
The owners of this wonderful home, Finn and Peter O'Hanlon, warmly welcome you. Finn and Peter are seasoned food and hospitality enthusiasts, having spent much of their working lives creating memorable moments for visitors to their food and beverage businesses.
Finn, a trained chef, began her career with a stall at the bustling Milk Market in Limerick. Her homemade bread, stews, soups, and cakes were so popular that they ignited a lifelong passion with Irish food, inspiring her to open restaurants and pubs still serving some of those original recipes to this day.
Peter, also a foodie and hooked on the buzz of the hospitality world, joined Finn to open two pubs, so you'll have a choice of Irish cider, Jameson Whiskey, or homemade lemonade to start.
Finn welcomes you into her kitchen. Take a seat around the beautiful island — your workstation — equipped with all the necessary utensils and ingredients to cook a gorgeous three-course traditional Irish lunch. Finn is on hand to demonstrate the process step by step. Make soda bread to eat with locally smoked salmon, followed by Irish stew served with colcannon. You'll dine outside if the weather permits, with Finn and Peter joining you for lunch and dessert.
Gather around the table to eat, laugh, and hear about family life in Cobh and in Ireland.
