This half-day excursion is a wonderful opportunity to see Norway's brilliant scenery up close. The amazing Jostedal National Park features an extensive glacial backdrop and is home to some of the largest ice sheets in Europe. Sit back and enjoy, from the coach, the view of waterfalls, mountains, glaciers and valleys.
A drive along the River Stryn brings you to the Jostedal National Park Visitor Center. View the many fascinating exhibits, and 3D displays of the glaciers, some of which are more than 1,200 feet deep. A short film expounds the geography of the park, its scenic wonders, and its wildlife. You'll have some free time to browse in gift shop for souvenirs.
You'll visit the historic Videseter Inn, which dates back to 1903. Enjoy a delicious snack of traditional Norwegian cakes accompanied by tea or coffee, while you take in the sweeping views of the Hjelle Valley.
Walk to the amazing Buldrefossen Falls, which plummet 240 feet into a deep gorge.
Heading back to Olden via the Old Stryn Road, you'll appreciate the scenery of the stunning turquoise river that runs through the valley.
Notes:
This tour consists predominantly of sightseeing from the coach, with stops at the historic Videseter Inn and National Park Center.
