Confident, poised and well-groomed, the town of St Andrews is most famous as the home of golf. It is also well known for its university -- the oldest higher-learning institution in Scotland. Board your motorcoach for a scenic drive to this coastal town. You will make a stop at the UNESCO world heritage site of the Forth Bridges en route.
St Andrews faces the sea from above a wide bay on the coast of Fife and has always been at the heart of Scottish history. The town takes its name from the Apostle Andrew, whose relics, according to legend, were brought here by St Rule.
On arrival in this medieval cathedral town, a short panoramic drive will introduce you to some of the main sights before a photo stop at St Andrews Cathedral. Afterwards, you’ll have free time to explore independently. You may choose to visit the R&A World Golf Museum, take time to view the Old Course or indulge in a spot of shopping.
During your return journey back to Newhaven a photo stop will be made at the quant fishing town of South Queensferry.
