In the lovely city of Bordeaux, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, you'll have around 2½ hours of free time to explore, shop, and admire some stunning neo-Classical architecture. You may wish to wander in the 33-acre Place des Quinconces — the hub of the city — where sophisticated boutiques line the many pedestrian-only streets.
Return to the motorcoach at the designated time for a short drive to the extraordinary Cité du Vin (the Bordeaux Wine Museum). This masterpiece of modern architecture is a tribute to Bordeaux's winemaking heritage. Step inside for an interactive, self-guided tour that celebrates the history of French wine through the ages. Multisensory exhibits and displays span ten floors.
