This tour takes you to two of the Lofoten Islands, known for some of the most spectacular scenery in Norway and for some of the world's richest fishing waters.
Vestvågøy is the second-largest island in the Lofoten archipelago. Your coach will take you through the small village of Leknes -- the administrative center of the island -- with approximately 3,000 inhabitants.
On your way south, you'll stop for photos at the Flakstad Church -- a little red church made of driftwood from Siberia. The church was built in 1780.
At the old trading center at Sund, visit the blacksmith, well known for his handicrafts. He makes and sells rather stylish cormorants cast in steel. There is also a private museum here, where he keeps a collection of old fishing boat engines and other fishing gear.
Reine claims the crown as one of the most idyllic and best-preserved fishing villages in the Lofoten archipelago, and has been a commercial center since 1743. Despite its remote location and population of just 307 year-round inhabitants, many thousands of people visit annually because Reine has the reputation of being the most beautiful village in Norway.
