Your tour starts at the harbour where you’ll be driven towards the town of Bolungarvík, through the tunnel in Mt. Óshlíð. When in Bolungarvík, head towards Mt. Bolafjall and the new viewing platform, here you’ll have a spectacular panoramic view over Hornstrandir Nature Reserve, part of the Glacier Fjords and Ísafjarðardjúp Fjord. Some say that if you peer to the north-west you might see the coast of Greenland.
When driving back down the mountain we head to Skálavík creek. Uninhabited since the 1960’s, it’s a beautiful and forgotten place. In Skálavík you will have some light refreshments of tea/coffee and cake while you enjoy the peace and silence you find in that beautiful creek.
