Embark on a scenic drive from Isafjordur, to uncover the natural wonders of Ísafjarðardjúp Bay. As we traverse the fjords, prepare to be captivated by the rugged beauty of this remote corner of Iceland, where towering mountains meet deep-sea views and thriving wildlife.
Arriving at the Kambsnes viewpoint, you'll be treated to spectacular panoramas of the bay and Vigur island, with the snow-covered Snæfjallaströnd peninsula looming in the distance. Keep an eye out for Möngufoss waterfall, a hidden gem nestled amidst the uninhabited wilderness. Continuing south, we make our way to Hvítanes cape, home to a colony of charming harbor seals. Watch as these playful creatures frolic along the rocky beach, providing a delightful spectacle for wildlife enthusiasts.
Our journey takes us further to the quaint Litlibær farm, a time capsule from days gone by. Step inside the tiny turf-roofed house, built in 1895 and inhabited until 1969, and immerse yourself in the history of Icelandic rural life.
Indulge in typical Icelandic waffles, renowned as some of the best in the country, as you soak in the rustic charm of this historic homestead.
On our return to Ísafjörður, we'll make a stop to visit the Arctic Fox Centre. Delve into the world of Iceland's native land mammal, the Arctic fox, through informative exhibitions and the chance to meet these captivating creatures up close.
