Enjoy the magnificent wildlife and stunning scenery aboard a traditionally renovated fishing boat made of oak. There is perhaps no better place in the world to see the minke whale than right here in Skjalfandi Bay. These small whales have a reputation elsewhere for being somewhat shy and elusive, but in this bay they are quite extroverted and often approach boats and surface right alongside. They are interested in humans and appear to enjoy the novelty of observing us “dry mammals”--they are watching you watching them! An added bonus: boisterous white-beaked dolphins and harbor porpoises frequently show up as well, and keep your eyes open for curious and rather large humpback whales.
