Meet your guide at the pier and board a transfer vehicle bound for Nuuksio National Park. This natural treasure is characterized by rugged hills, steep gorges and deep lakes formed in the Ice Age. The park consists of an intricate mosaic of habitats. It is home to dozens of threatened and near-threatened species and offers marked trails for trekking and cross-country skiing. Other popular activities in the park include cycling, horseback riding, swimming, fishing and rock climbing, as well as berry- and mushroom-picking.
Hike along easy trails to get acquainted with the features of the park. After about an hour of walking, you'll stop at a forest lake to rest and enjoy a snack of sandwiches and juice. Feel free to swim in the lake if you're brave enough!
Continue through the forest as you make your way back to your transfer vehicle; then, relax on the return drive to the ship.
Notes:
Wear comfortable clothes and closed-toe walking shoes. In case of rain, a waterproof jacket will be supplied. Tour operates rain or shine but may be canceled by the operator in the event of unsuitable conditions. Bring your swimsuit and a towel if you plan to swim.
