A new generation of tuk tuk -- 100% electric and very quiet -- is revolutionizing sightseeing in Helsinki. Equipped with a wireless audio receiver to hear commentary from your guide, you'll travel along the streets of Helsinki's exclusive Eira and Katajanokka neighborhoods. These Art Nouveau areas are off-limits to tour coaches because their streets are very narrow.
See the mighty icebreaker fleet docked in the summer harbor. Pause in Senate Square to briefly enjoy Helsinki's favorite gathering spot. Heading along Helsinki's main thoroughfare, you will see the House of Parliament, the Music Hall, the National Opera and the new Oodi Library.
An unexpected gem of Finnish architecture is the Rock Church -- literally blasted into bedrock.
Open space abounds at eponymous Sibelius Park, where you'll visit the monument built to honor Finland's greatest composer.
Guests wishing to stay in town to shop or explore independently are welcome to do so but must make their own way back to the ship.
Notes:
Maximum capacity per tuk tuk is four guests. This is not a private vehicle exclusive to your party; rather, you will likely be sharing with others. Cancelation deadline is 72 hours prior to the call at Helsinki. Minimum height is 4'5" (135 cm). Maximum weight per guest is 308 lbs (140 kg). Tuk tuk seats and floor are higher than a regular car; participants must be able to negotiate steps to (dis)embark the tuk tuk. Use of an audio headset (included) will enhance your tour experience. Many of the streets are cobblestoned, which may not be suitable for guests with back or neck injuries due to the bumpy ride.
