This tour visits some historical landmarks in the Lista area.
You'll initially head to Nordberg Fort to visit the Lista Museum. Lista's interesting history is depicted through extensive exhibits of collected historical items and traditional buildings. Nordberg Fort, built by the Germans during World War II, is one of only a few coastal such still in their original form today. It is now a cultural heritage site.
The Festung Lista Hangar Museum is located in Hangar 45 at Lista Fly og Næringspark. It contains amazing discoveries from World War II and offers a great insight into what it was like to live in Lista during the war. German occupation was the normal way of life here. The museum is the largest theme-based historical museum in southern Norway today and is set in an authentic X-German aircraft hangar. Your walk through the museum is eye-opening -- it tells the story of Norway's wartime efforts involving civilians and military personnel.
Please note: Wear sturdy non-skid walking shoes.
