Enjoy a two-hour excursion full of storytelling and scenic views along Nærøyfjord.
Just a few minutes from the pier, a local skipper and a wooden boat are ready to take you on a small-group outing with a maximum of nine guests. After a short safety briefing and distribution of lifevests, you’re ready to set off.
This authentic “slow boat” provides a true insight into the village of Eidfjord as you cruise along, listening to stories from your local guide. Keep your camera close as you wind through the narrow fjord, passing waterfalls and pristine white-sand beaches.
The towering cliffs soon surrounding you were created more than 8,000 years ago when the ice-age glaciers receded and the lower parts of the valley filled with seawater. People have called this fertile area home since before the Viking era.
Pass small farms and scenic landscapes en route back to the pier for the short walk back to your ship.
Notes:
Dress warmly in layers with a windproof and waterproof outer layer; bring a warm hat, gloves and a scarf.
